  • Participants may be sponsored by either Microsoft or one of our partner organizations. Sponsoring teams change with each cohort and are dependent on the needs of the business.

  • Locations for each cohort differ depending on the business needs of Microsoft and our partners. If you are offered a full-time role at Microsoft upon completion of Microsoft Leap, location requirements will be determined by your hiring team.

Who is eligible

  • Microsoft Leap is full-time, 16-week immersive experience.

  • Microsoft Leap is a full-time commitment. To get the most out of the program, participants are encouraged to limit school and professional commitments during the duration of Microsoft Leap.

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the country in which their apprenticeship will take place for the duration of the program. Immigration sponsorship will not be provided.

What to expect during our program

  • Microsoft Leap participants will be sponsored by Microsoft or one of our partner companies. Additional information will be provided upon acceptance into our program.

  • Yes, participants are paid.

  • Yes, participants are offered health insurance.

  • Our program is virtual, relocation is not provided.

  • Childcare assistance is not provided as part of Microsoft Leap.

  • Microsoft does not provide accommodation or match participants with roommates. However, we encourage participants to connect with fellow cohort members who may be able to recommend housing options.

What to expect after the program

  • While participants are not guaranteed employment after completing Microsoft Leap, they may have an opportunity to interview for a position at Microsoft or the sponsoring partner company. Participants have a high employment success rate, 98% of graduates accept positions in the technology industry.

  • No. Microsoft Leap does not accept applications via email. Please apply on the website during application window as posted LinkedIn, Facebook and/or Twitter.

  • You will receive a confirmation email when you submit your application. After your application is reviewed, you will receive a letter of declination or invitation to interview via our chosen contracting company. Please check your spam folder if you have not received any emails from the program.

    Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to respond to individual inquiries on the status of applications. We encourage applicants who are not accepted to reapply.
