History

At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. This is at the heart of the Microsoft Leap, which is designed to source and develop talent for employability into the technology industry worldwide. In 2018, after successfully sourcing talent for Microsoft, we expanded our charter and offered the program to Microsoft partners and customers. Microsoft Leap as a Service addresses the future talent needs through targeted skilling and on the job training. We align ourselves with partners like MC Systems to build digital skills and career pathways for the technology ecosystem. As such, we are delighted to announce our inaugural cohort in the Americas with MC Systems in Jamaica! MC Systems is a current Microsoft partner. They are a technology product, service, and consulting provider.

Program Information

Our unique program offers participants an opportunity to participate in 4-week structured environment + 12 weeks on the job training. At the end of the program, participants may have an opportunity to interview for a software engineer position with MC Systems. Employment is not guaranteed.

Pathway

Microsoft Leap prioritizes candidates who showcase creativity, commitment, resilience, and problem-solving ability. Our program is seeking candidates who are passionate about technology and offer diverse perspectives. We encourage software engineers to apply. We seek software engineers who obtained their training by one of the following methods:

• University graduate (within 1 year of application)
• Bootcamp or vocational school graduate who earned a certification
• Self-taught
